Humidity Indicator Plugs

Color change humidity indicator plugs are the solution to a wide range of military and commercial packaging requirements. Mounted through a container wall, the color change plug reliably measures relative humidity levels with accuracy to within 5%. Available in a variety of sizes and specifications, these humidity indicator plugs are designed to be simple cost-effective and reliable. They are adaptable to almost all applications for Method II packaging of MIL-P-116 and MIL-I-26860.

Plugs are available in aluminum or brass. Clear anodizing and zinc plating are standard, but custom finishes are also available per customer specifications. Our plugs readily detect any change in RH of a sealed package. A large, clear, viewing window allows for easy reading.

Easily installed with hand tools, these plugs are compatible with equipment and electrical housings as well as most flexible barriers including: plastic bags and fiber drums. They provide a simple, cost-effective alternative to electrical and mechanical types of humidity indication units.

PLUG CARDS

Humidity indicator plug cards work in conjunction with humidity indicator plugs to deliver easy-to-read RH monitoring in a variety of container applications. They are available with humidity indicator plugs, and are factory-installed in the plugs prior to shipment. Plug cards use the same color-indication system as other our color change indicator cards. Cards change from blue color (DRY), through lavender, to pink (HUMID) as RH increases. They are reversible as required by Military Specification MIL-I-8835. Plug cards are available in the single spot style ranging in percentages of RH from 10%-90%. Plug cards are also available in multiple spot configuration where up to four different percentages of RH can be indicated on the card.
