Cortec’s patented vapor corrosion inhibiting technology has revolutionized the way metals are protected in an enclosed package. Cortec VCI-144 and VCI-146 papers provide superior corrosion protection for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Cortec VCI-144 and VCI-146 multimetal papers eliminate the need to inventory a variety of papers for all of the different types of metal you need to protect. Cortec VCI-144 and VCI-146 are environmentally safe, non-toxic, biodegradable and fully recyclable/repulpable. They offer true vapor corrosion protection without the use of any nitrites or other hazardous compounds.

Cortec VCI papers are made from the highest quality neural natural kraft paper. This means that the papers are made without the use of any chlorine or other chemical bleaching. This eliminates package contamination found with other VpCI papers. In addition the paper base stock for the VpCI coatings is produced with contains closely packed cellulose fibers which form a relatively non-permeable sheet. This attribute produces a uniform coating, as well as preventing the coating from bleeding through the paper. Another advantage of this property in Cortec papers is that the VCI is localized on the side where it is needed most.

Typical Applications

Cortec VCI-144 and VCI-146 papers can be used to protect products for storage and shipment in a wide variety of ways: the 146 Kraft Wrap for single item packaging or interleaving; end closures for shipping tubes, insert strips for recessed areas in large packages; and as sheet liners or separators between products.
